Now that they have come out with a new esata hookups on computers you can connect external drives that are esata compatible. how to connect esata external drive is pretty basic sense with all sata drives you need a driver installed. If you want to connect a external drive to your computer make sure they are compatible with the new eSATA connection. If it is then you can go online and get it to Tech site and get step-by-step instructions on how to connect a external drive by eSATA so that you will get the best possible use from it possible. I'm sure it comes with instructions on how to connect it but the biggest thing you must make sure is that it is compatible with your computer. This is only come out recently and the old computers do not have eSATA connections since the motherboard is not compatible to the eSATA drives. If you just purchased it still does not mean it is compatible so they issue a read your manual to see if your computer is compatible with the eSATA if not then just get a regular satyr or USB external drive.
