Independence helps many people learn many life lessons

When I was a teenager, I always dreamed of having my own place. This is because my parents were very strict and I felt really suffocated. They were good parents and still are, do not get me wrong. The problem was that that do not trust me to make my own decisions in life. They were very sure that I was going to make a mistake and they were constantly holding their breath because they anticipated me to make a mistake. They had taught me important life lessons but they did not allow me to actually be practical with what I had learned. I knew that would impossible for as long as I stayed with them. So when I went to college, I was ecstatic, and I got my own place after a year of living in the dormitories. I bought my own home theater system and I used the instruction manual that came with it so that I could learn how to connect home theater to computer. That was one of the perks of having my own place is that I could be able to do things for myself.
