What Happens when Government Fails to Do Its Job

Being a consumer myself, sometimes I become a victim of products and services which are poor in quality. It gets me thinking, how these inferior products make their way in the market. What happened to the so-called consumer protection watchdog? Aren't they supposed to be keeping an eye on this matter? The proliferation of China-made products is simply overwhelming. They are sold along all the busy streets and in big malls, too. As a mother, this gets me worried because many of these China-made toys are proven to be anything but safe. Unfortunately, many consumers continue to patronize these products because they are undeniably cheaper compared to the others. Perhaps, consumers also lack sufficient information about the hazards these products expose them to, especially to their children. I say that the government must enforce full implementation of the law to control and eventually eradicate this problem. After all, isn't it supposed to be the government's duty to ensure that the people are safe and always protected? Therefore, they have to act now and they have to act fast!
