If there is one person I admire for the far that he has reached in life, it is this friend of mine who never gave up in life even when everyone else was discouraging him. Being our good friend, we thought he had made a very wrong choice in taking up a training as an electrician because while in school, we had all studied for engineering causes and were looking forward to getting jobs as engineers, but as time went by without any of us getting a job, John, one of our friends did not hesitate when he was called upon for training as an electrician. He got discouragements not just from us his friends but also from the family and neighbours who thought he was bringing shame to himself in making such a choice. But it is only now that people are now appreciating him for being a competent oxford electrician. Now that market has broadened in their firm, he earns even more cash to cater for his needs as well as have enough for luxury. While we are still looking for engineering jobs, he has already stabilized his life at a tender age. |

A geek couldn't get the chance to make some people understand easily the point that he wants to get to. For me, being a geek is really tough. You may be the smartest person in town but you're also the one who is the most difficult to understand. I was assigned to report in computer class one time and believe me, it was the hardest thing that I have done in my four years in high school. My teacher told me to report anything related to the web. Of course, being the type of person that I was, I wanted to present something technical, something that my friends didn't have any knowledge about. What was the use of being a geek when you can't show what you know right. When I started to report on getting web traffic information, I just got a full view on the kind of people that were surrounding me. I saw the youth of today who didn't seem to be interested on my report and didn't care if the failed the quiz that I had to give after (which was something regularly done by all the reporters). |

Many of us would like to look like a celebrity. It is something that we cannot avoid really. When we look in a magazine we get shown that a certain person has good legs or good arms or a good shape. There are also articles on who is too fat and too thin, too muscular and too scrawny. It can be enough for us to look at our bodies and think that we must be inadequate as well.
We do all look different and so it is important to accept that how ever much we work out or lose weight, we will just not look like certain people, we just do not have the right body shape. This is partly due to our bone structure and partly due to the way that we store fat on our body. We all need a bit of fat and some of us carry it on our tummies, some on our hips and thighs and some all over.
If we do want to feel happier about how we look then trying to get fit could help. You can sculpt your body in some ways and this can help you to change your appearance a little bit. Certain exercises can tone up certain parts. Even though you will never look identical to anyone else, you could make some changes which will make you feel more confident in how you look. It is not healthy to hate how you look and wish you looked like someone else. After all, you are my best friend in the world and the last thing I want to do is to hurt you. I know I said I was going to watch a movie with you this weekend, but something came up. My teacher in social studies has asked me to do an oral report on Monday and I only have this weekend to work on that special assignment. Aside from the many books that I need to browse, I also have to search in website google for a lot of things and I am afraid I do not have much time left. But believe me, if I could, I would definitely go on with our movie date. If it's okay with you, next weekend would be perfect. |

If we look good we feel so much more confident. This is the reason that many of us are trying to lose weight. A lot of people are on diets and this can be a good way to lose weight. One thing that research has shown to help is exercise. If people losing weight continue to exercise after they have reached their target weight, it has been found that they are more likely to remain slim. This has got to be a great reason to start exercising.
Exercise can come in so many different forms. Some people feel that they do not want to do it but there are different things that you can do and you are bound to find some of it fun. There are lots of different sports, toning exercising, running, swimming, walking, going to the gym. So many other things as well. It can be great to try out a selection of different things and see which you like. One way to do this is to do a boot camp as they will show you all sorts of things and you can try them out. This should help you to see what you do and do not like and also learn about safe ways to exercise and what types you like. |
